Italy are Euro 2020 top seeds

Italy have now secured their status as top seeds in the draw for Euro 2020 and will play their first three games in Rome.

The Azzurri maintained their 100 per cent record in qualifying with this evening’s 3-0 victory away to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

That result ensures Roberto Mancini’s men will be top seeds in the Euro 2020 draw, which takes place in Bucharest on Saturday November 30.

It has another knock-on effect, which is that Italy are guaranteed to play their three group games at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

This tournament is going to be an itinerant one, with matches staged all over the continent, so home advantage is something to be appreciated.

We already know that Italy will be in Group A, as they are one of the host nations.

There will be in all 24 teams taking part, split into six groups of four, with the semi-finals and Final played at Wembley Stadium in London.

Italy have qualified for Euro 2020 along with Belgium, the Czech Republic, England, Finland, France, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and Ukraine.
