Roma could cut Nikola Kalinic’s loan spell short and return him to Atletico Madrid in January, claims Spanish paper Marca.
The forward turns 32 in January and probably won’t play again in 2019 due to a fracture at the top of the fibula, suffered last month.
He made only five appearances in a Giallorossi jersey, three in Serie A and two in the Europa League, for a grand total of 182 minutes of football.
According to Marca, Roma are getting ready to cut the season-long loan short and return Kalinic to Atletico Madrid.
This would free up room and spending money to find a suitable replacement in the January transfer window.
The Croatia international already had Serie A spells with Fiorentina and Milan before his €14.5m move to Madrid in 2018.
