Nicolò Barella maintains Italy can use their youth and “less pressure” to surprise many more experienced sides at Euro 2020.
The Azzurri completed their qualifying group with a 100 per cent record, beating Armenia 9-1 this evening.
“I am happy for the goal, but above all for my teammates, especially those who made their debuts this evening. We’re a great group and are enjoying ourselves,” the Inter midfielder told Rai Sport.
“The fans are showing us so much affection and that was the most difficult thing to get after last year. We are gaining experience on an international level too and that is all very valuable for the younger players like me.
“We are younger than many of the big sides like Spain, Germany and England, but we also probably go in with less pressure on our heads and hope to use that attitude to enjoy our tournament.”
