Michel Platini has confirmed that he won’t be back at Juventus but suggested they sign Kylian Mbappe and compared Paulo Dybala to Roberto Baggio.

The former UEFA President was talking to Tuttosport about his future in football, on the promotional trail for his new book ‘The King is Nude’.

He ruled out a return to Juve, where he enjoyed so much success as a player in the 1980s, but revealed a role alongside President Andrea Agnelli at the European Club Association (ECA) would appeal to him.

“They have asked me many times, but you don’t live the same love story twice,” he told the newspaper.

“As for working with Agnelli at the ECA, anything is possible. I have a very good relationship with him, but he’s never asked me about it. He’s never talked to me about the famous Super Champions League either.”

The Bianconeri’s No 10 shirt is now being worn by Dybala, but Platini sees more similarities between him and other club icons.

“He is more similar to [Alessandro] Del Piero and [Roberto] Baggio than he is to me.

“Zidane reminded me more of myself because we were more like midfielders. Dybala has great quality and does everything at speed like Baggio did.”

The Frenchman wrapped things up by advising Juve to bankroll a move for Kylian Mbappe, whom he predicted to be football’s next kingpin after Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

“I really like Neymar. And then there’s this kid who plays with him at Paris Saint-Germain, who isn’t too bad himself…

“Mbappe, that’s it! He could be the star over the next 10 years. I would suggest him to anyone.

“I don’t know if Juventus can afford him right now, and it will be even more difficult in the future as his value will increase even more.”
