Carlo Ancelotti and Max Allegri are among the early favourites to become the next Tottenham Hotspur boss after Mauricio Pochettino’s dismissal.

Tottenham announced on Tuesday evening they had sacked Pochettino after a poor start to the season.

The onus is now on who will replace the Argentine, and two of the three coaches with the shortest odds are Ancelotti and Allegri.

The Napoli boss has two years left on his contract but is currently encountering difficulties at the San Paolo following an incident of player mutiny.

The Napoli boss has two years left on his contract but is currently encountering difficulties at the San Paolo following an incident of player mutiny.

As for the ex-Juventus tactician, he is actively learning English and remains out of work.

However, the early favourite is former Inter coach Jose Mourinho, who is similarly unemployed.

The Portuguese won Premier League titles with Chelsea and led Manchester United to Europa League glory in 2017.
