Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi wishes his team hadn't left it to the last second to beat Sassuolo. "We should've won the game in the first half."
Felipe Caicedo came off the bench to win the game for the Biancocelesti, after Ciro Immobile and Francesco Caputo goals, but Inzaghi wasn't happy with the number of chances missed.
"It is an important victory, the only regret is that it didn't come sooner," said the coach in his press conference.
"We played very well in the first half, but we were not clinical enough in front of goal, and we conceeded a goal that was a photocopy almost of the goal against Lecce. We cannot afford to let this happen, because when games get tough, we struggle to score."
Stefan Radu's strip appeared on the Lazio bench, but Radu was nowhere to be seen, so Inzaghi was asked why.
"[Stefan] Radu yesterday evening during the trip for the game became sick and started vomiting. This morning he had a fever and he returned to Rome. That's why his kit was on the bench."
Roma's win over Brescia sees the third and fourth Champions League places now occupied by the two sides from Rome, so are the Capital clubs returning to the biggest tournament?
"We have only played 13 games, it is far too soon to make judgements."
Jordan Lukaku, brother of Romelu, is starting to find a bit of form for Lazio after a long injury lay-off.
"It's entirely up to Jordan to win back his place. I also have Jony that is working very well."
