Verona coach Ivan Juric believes the 1-0 win over Fiorentina proved they are no fluke. "People are starting to notice us."

The Gialloblu have now won three of their last five games and sit ninth in the table, leapfrogging today's opponents in the standings.

"We did well, in every sense. I am happy. The only regret is not having finished the game off sooner, but everything was very good," said the coach in his press conference.

The Gialloblu have now won three of their last five games and sit ninth in the table, leapfrogging today's opponents in the standings.

"We did well, in every sense. I am happy. The only regret is not having finished the game off sooner, but everything was very good," said the coach in his press conference.

Verona scored with a well-worked goal involving Davide Faraoni, Koray Gunter and Samuel Di Carmine.

"It was a beautiful move. [Koray] Gunter is a talent. He was brilliant today, on a defensive and technical level.

"Perhaps it was not the toughest game, but against the highest calibre of opponents, yes. In the first half we did everything well. We could've been more ruthless in front of goal, but we had everything under control throughout the game."

Verona are doing better than expected following their promotion from Serie B via the play-offs, and have been called surprise of the season.

"Yes, it is right that people have started to notice us. But we can't take our foot off the gas, otherwise our faults will be exposed."

Matteo Pessina generally plays as an attacking midfielder, but Juric deployed him as a regista today.

"Pessina has an intelligence superior to others, in football and in life. He can adapt, he is an example. I am very happy with him."

Juric dedicated the win to famous Verona supporter and actor Roberto Puliero, who died on Tuesday.

"I'm glad we could give him this victory, his brother told me at the funeral that he really liked the team this season. I saw how much he meant to the city."

Verona play Roma next weekend.
