Atalanta might be struggling in the Champions League, but their Primavera side is dominating its UEFA Youth League group and secured qualification.

La Dea are in their first ever Champions League campaign and so far have just one point from four matches, holding 10-man Manchester City to a 1-1 draw.

However, their youth team is achieving great things in the mirror tournament, as today’s 2-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb put them top of the group on 10 points from five games.

They cannot now be caught by Manchester City in third, having beaten the English side both home and away.

All Atalanta need now is a draw against Shakhtar Donetsk to ensure they qualify directly to the Round of 16, rather than go via a play-off.

Atalanta lost their opener 1-0 in Zagreb, drew 2-2 with Shakhtar Donetsk in Bergamo, but then went on a roll.

They had a 3-1 victory away to Manchester City, beat the English side 1-0 in Italy and registered this afternoon’s 2-0 result with Dinamo Zagreb.
