“Andreas Cornelius trained with the team yesterday and today, so he’ll probably be on the bench,” said the coach in his press conference.
“It certainly won’t be an easy match, as we are up against a quality side that has put in some good performances lately. Milan are struggling in terms of results, but they haven’t played that badly.
“We need to get out there with the right determination, using the disappointment of the Bologna game and transform that into positive energy. Every player must give something more.
“Milan will be aggressive and try to take the game to us, so we need to maintain our balance and keep an eye on those individuals who can change a game.”
D’Aversa took over at Parma almost three years ago, with the club in Serie C following bankruptcy, and took them on a record-breaking march up to the top flight.
“I think this team is growing, becoming more mature and last season we just wanted to consolidate our position. Milan are behind us in the standings right now, but we don’t analyse our opponents based on their position, but rather their strengths, weaknesses and characteristics.
“We know that our objective is to ensure safety from relegation and cannot afford to go out there with a superficial attitude. We need to get our target as soon as possible, which means good results even against the biggest clubs.”
