Inter hadn't been top since Treble

Following their 2-1 win over SPAL, Inter are now alone on top of the Serie A table after 14 rounds for the first time since the 2009-10 season under Jose Mourinho.

The Nerazzurri overtook Juventus after the Old Lady could only draw 2-2 at home with Sassuolo in the early afternoon kickoff.

Lautaro Martinez’s brace against SPAL took him to 13 goals this season in all competitions.

Despite not scoring, Romelu Lukaku has netted 11 goals in 18 appearances.

The pair have so far accounted for 60% of all of Inter’s goals this season.

Inter sat atop the Serie A table a decade ago with 35 points after the 14th round, with Milan in second on 28 points. Juventus meanwhile were in third on 27 points.

Inter went into the Christmas break as winter champions in 2009-10, the last time the club have done so.
