SPAL went down 2-1 against the Nerazzurri, but there was a remarkable contrast in performance in both halves, with the Ferrara side taking the game to Inter in the second half and could've emerged with a draw.

“Aside from Inter’s quality, we were too timid in the first, we were afraid of conceding a second goal. It was strange that the second half offered such a contrast in relation to the first," said the coach in his press conference.

“We can do better however, also against great teams and we have demonstrated it. It's disappointing.”

Having faced both Juventus and Inter, Semplici was asked who he believes is the better side of the Scudetto contenders.

“I believe that in terms of squad strength and for the winning habit, Juve are still ahead. With [Antonio] Conte, he’s made more of a difference [compared to Maurizio Sarri]. I would give Juve the advantage, but watch out for the intensity of Inter, it will be a good fight [for the title].”

SPAL face Brescia in a bottom of the table clash at the Stadio Paolo Mazza next weekend.
