Napoli will be staying in a training retreat until their last group match in the Champions League against Racing Genk next week.
Gazzetta dello Sport reports Napoli will remain in ritiro until the game on December 10 but also speaks of a “tense” atmosphere in the camp.
Jokes are hard to come by and there’s a sense of pessimism around the training ground, explains the newspaper, which adds President Aurelio De Laurentiis might sack coach Carlo Ancelotti next week.
Ancelotti needs to turn the tide and his days could be numbered without a win at Udinese or if the Partenopei lose out on a place in the last 16 of the Champions League.
The newspaper goes on to state that the players have divided into groups of rioters and peacemakers.
Napoli are currently on a run of eight games without a win, leaving them seventh in Serie A after a 2-1 loss to Bologna last weekend.
