Coach Liverani expects a difficult game against the Rossoblu, and is wary of his old Lazio team-mate Pandev.

“Genoa are a well organised team, with their own identity. They have a strong squad, good technical players and someone like Pandev, who the older he gets, the more decisive he becomes.

“Kevin Agudelo can decide a game. Cristian Romero in defence is one of the best young players in Serie A. It’s clear that their position in the league table doesn’t reflect the quality in their squad.”

Liverani confirmed that Filippo Falco and Diego Farias are fit to play, but both won’t last the full game.

“Both are available, but it’s clear that because of their respective injuries they don’t have 90 minutes in their legs yet.”

Liverani started his coaching career at Genoa, and says he learned a lot at Marassi.

“I started from the youth sector to the first team. At Genoa I started my path to becoming a manager and it’s where I learned a lot. The sacking after six games wasn’t a happy moment. President Enrico Preziosi has great courage, but little patience.”
