Torino boss Walter Mazzarri isn't getting carried away after a 2-1 win over Fiorentina, but hopes Cristian Ansaldi can finally reach his full "potential."

The Granata secured a 2-1 win against Fiorentina at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, that sees them move into eighth place in the table.

“We need to keep our feet on the ground, in this environment there is no balance, everything can change from one day to the next," Mazzarri told Sky Sport Italia.

“The team is improving and we hope that this continues. I am already thinking to the next game against Verona and it’ll be a battle.

“Serie A is changing a lot. There are teams that can play well and no victories are ever predictable.”

Left-back Cristian Ansaldi was instrumental in Toro’s win, providing the cross for Simone Zaza’s header for the first and then scoring the second himself.

“I have great confidence in him that sometimes I put him as a midfielder. However he must be prodded, because potentially he can still be a champion.

“When he is concentrated, like today, he can do well in both halves of the field. He has a great shot and I told him he needs to score a few goals. The second goal allowed us to feel more secure.”
