“This is a wonderful advertisement for football with two important actors in Inter and Barcelona,” the director told Sport Mediaset.
“It’s a fascinating stage to play on and the icing on the cake would be a victory. I had full faith in the squad that we’d be in wich a chance of qualifying, but there is also a little bit of regret, as with a different result in Dortmund, it would’ve been different. The imperative now is to win.”
There is also transfer speculation surrounding the two clubs, as Barcelona want Lautaro Martinez and Inter are eyeing up Arturo Vidal.
“We are Inter and do not necessarily have to sell anyone. We want to grow with important young players like Lautaro and Romelu Lukaku.
“Having said that, the destiny of a player is inside their own minds. If Lautaro wants to continue with us, we will be happy about that. At this moment, he is tied to us and we are happy. If he wants to take a different path, we’ll evaluate the situation.
“As for Vidal, he is an excellent player, a real football warrior. Barcelona are unlikely to let him go, but he too is a name on our list of potential opportunities.”
