Giovanni Simeone believes “small details” will decide whether Cagliari are serious contenders for Champions League qualification.
Cagliari are fourth in Serie A, just two games before the League goes on a break for Christmas, and Simeone is urging his teammates to “push even harder”.
“We have been working hard, but the moment to push even harder has arrived,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“Everything is down to the small details, to arrive early for training and do everything with extra attention.”
The Rossoblu will get the opportunity to make a statement against third-placed Lazio this weekend, and the former Fiorentina striker warned they had to be “focused” against the capital club.
“It will be a great match. We need to be focused, because Lazio are very strong in attack.”
The 24-year-old has previous with Fiorentina, who began last season strongly but faded away, eventually staying up by the skin of their teeth.
“We really want to arrive, we are thinking about it,” he added to Gazzetta dello Sport.
“However, the reality is that we are still six months away from the end of the season.
“Last year in Florence, we started the season well, but kept our place in the league during the last round.”
