The midfielder has just recently returned from a lengthy injury that saw him miss a year of action.

He made his comeback against Torino in late September and has slowly made his way back into the side, scoring against Napoli and Bologna.

La Gazzetta reports that Milan will meet with Raiola in January to discuss renewing Bonaventura’s contract, which expires next June.

La Gazzetta reports that Milan will meet with Raiola in January to discuss renewing Bonaventura’s contract, which expires next June.

The Milan daily states that there’s a willingness on both sides to find an agreement.

However, Milan don’t want to offer the 30-year-old a long-term deal, as their philosophy has changed since Ivan Gazidis took charge, who wants to focus more on younger players.

That may prove to be a sticking point in negotiations, as Bonaventura knows this will be the final big contract of his career.

He is also reported to be of interest to the likes of Roma and Fiorentina as a free agent.

Bonaventura has been at the club since 2014, and has made 160 appearances for the Rossoneri, scoring 33 times.
