“Really, we cannot afford to think about any other games after Lazio. We must continue to dream, focusing on ourselves," said the coach in his press conference.

“Shifting our attention means taking something away, but we need to maintain maximum concentration. Tomorrow we must do something extraordinary for our fans, we need every ounce of energy.”

Cagliari stumbled in their last outing against Sassuolo, drawing 2-2, but Maran wants to look at the positives.

“Against Sassuolo we were less than brilliant, but after three games in six days, it is normal. Indeed, in certain circumstances some positivity has emerged.

“It was a small setback, but it was more physiological in my opinion.”

Lazio are the league’s second-highest scorers, with Ciro Immobile the current Capocannoniere.

“The team is concentrated and want to do well tomorrow evening.”

Cagliari have made their legendary striker Gigi Riva honorary President of the club this week.

“It is beautiful news, with this gesture it increases Riva’s closeness to the team. I even find it hard to find the right words to describe this emotion, we need to thank the President for this.”

Riva won the Scudetto with Cagliari in 1970, and is Italy's all-time greatest goalscorer with 35 goals.
