Italy announce San Marino friendly

Italy have announced they will play San Marino in a friendly at the Sardegna Arena in Cagliari on May 29, 2020.

This is the latest match in the build-up to Euro 2020 for Roberto Mancini’s men.

They have already announced trips to Wembley against England on March 27 and Nuremberg for Germany on March 31.

The venue is yet to be confirmed, but the Azzurri will also face the Czech Republic on June 4, right before the tournament begins.

Italy have faced San Marino before, winning 4-0 in February 1992 and 4-0 again in May 2013.

There was also an 8-0 result secured by Gian Piero Ventura’s side in May 2017.

The Nazionale have not played in Cagliari since beating Russia 2-0 on February 9, 2005.

This is their sixth match in the Sardinian city, boasting two wins, two draws and one defeat.
