“I’ve watched the game back 20 times, something like this has never happened to me before. Even against Fiorentina we had a drop in the final minutes, we lowered our intensity too much," said the coach in his press conference.
“Against Verona it’s difficult to decipher. We had unfavourable incidents, we made wrong choices a few times, but we also scored three goals.
“It still hurts, Verona’s comeback will remain in our memories, we must never lower our concentration. All games can be overturned until the 95th minute."
Torino face bottom of the table SPAL tomorrow at 19:45 GMT, but Mazzarri believes the Ferrara side don’t deserve their current position.
“They’ve always played good games, against Roma they were unlucky, some incidents went against them and they’ve lost many games in which they didn’t deserve to.”
Midfielder Daniele Baselli is out for three weeks with an injury, so how will Mazzarri rejig the midfield?
“Sasa Lukic or Soualiho Meite could replace him. I don’t want to give away any advantages, but I also wait to give my line-up to the players. Everyone is working well, and I will give my evaluation on the basis of the opponents and then decide.”
