Milan are interested in signing Manchester United’s Nemanja Matic, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, but face competition from Atletico Madrid.
The Serbian international has been consistently linked with a move to the other side of Milan, with Inter coach Antonio Conte a known admirer of the 31-year-old.
The two worked together at Chelsea and won the Premier League in 2016-17.
However La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that now the Rossoneri are interested in Matic.
The midfielder is out of favour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and has only made seven appearances in all competitions this season.
His contract expires next June, and it is thought that Milan could sign the player in January for a small fee.
It's suggested he is looking for a contract to June 2022.
Atletico Madrid are said to be also interested in Matic, and could prove to be more appealing.
Coincidentally, Matic had dinner with Wolves Striker Patrick Cutrone in late November, with Cutrone of course being a former Milan player.
The 21-year-old posted a picture on his Instragram account of the two sitting at a table.
