La Dea put five past the Rossoneri at home to cap a 2019 that has seen them reach the Coppa Italia final, qualify for the Champions League and then reach the last 16 of the competition.

“We know it was important to win after last week’s defeat against Bologna, to stay amongst the challengers for a Champions League spot.

“We played well and scored a lot of goals. We are happy. An even more difficult second part of the season awaits us.

“Now let's rest and get ready to go again in the New Year,” Palomino told Tuttomercatoweb.

The Bergamo outfit were drawn against Valencia in the last 16 of the Champions League, and Palomino believes they have a good chance of making it into the final eight.

“We all dream of the Champions League quarter final. We have to work and, if we continue like this, we certainly have more of a chance to progress.”
