Reports say The Friedkin Group could officially become Roma owners in a matter of hours.

Talks have been ongoing between the two parties for months, and both Calciomercato.com and Il Tempo write the finish line is in sight.

The Texas-based group will pay around €780m to buy the Giallorossi and take control of the Stadio della Roma project.

That would leave James Pallotta with a profit of around €170m from selling the club, once debts and recapitalisation are deducted.

An official announcement is expected no later than tomorrow and could even come this evening.

The running of the club will be left to Ryan Friedkin, son of the group’s owner Dan Friedkin, who is expected to fly into Rome between tonight and tomorrow.

Dan has a net worth of $4.3bn, according to Forbes, while it is believed that Pallotta will retain minority shares in the club.
