Roma have joined Napoli in tracking Inter winger Matteo Politano, which could in turn send Cengiz Under to Manchester United, it’s reported.

Politano’s lack of playing time under Antonio Conte suggests he’ll be on his way out of San Siro over the January transfer window, potentially on loan with option to buy.

Napoli had until now been the favourites, with a swap of six-month loans with either Fernando Llorente or Faouzi Ghoulam.

Napoli had until now been the favourites, with a swap of six-month loans with either Fernando Llorente or Faouzi Ghoulam.

Now Roma have emerged as contenders for the ex-Sassuolo star, as La Gazzetta dello Sport see him fitting in well with Paulo Fonseca’s 4-3-3 system.

On the other hand, Cengiz Under has struggled to adapt to the new coach and has been suffering from injury problems too.

A January exit is not out of the cards, especially if Politano should come in, as the Turkey international would raise funds.

According to LaRoma24.it, the club most interested in Cengiz Under is Manchester United.

The 22-year-old is primarily a right-sided winger, but can also play on the left or in a deeper support striker role.

Roma paid €14.5m plus bonuses to sign him from Istanbul Basaksehir in the summer of 2017.

Cengiz Under has played 75 competitive games for the Giallorossi, contributing 15 goals and 11 assists.
