“I am leaving one of the most prestigious clubs in Europe after a season of fundamental importance in my apprenticeship,” Perin wrote on Instagram.

“I was in direct contact with champions of great technical and moral qualities that few can compare to, from whom I learned above all what it means the feel ‘the need to win.’

“Juventus is a state of mind, my first Scudetto, a training ground for life, of rigor, an opportunity I could not let get away.

“Many asked me after such a season if I regretted making my decision… NEVER, I NEVER THOUGHT THAT!

“I don’t know what will happen in future, I have to concentrate now on a complex and fascinating adventure, but I hope, if I were to return, to feel the same warmth and affection that you have given me over these last few hours. Thank you, Juventus!”

Perin had been on the verge of joining Benfica over the summer, but failed a medical due to a shoulder injury.
