Krzysztof Piatek should get a chance to impress, as Zlatan Ibrahimovic looks set to start on the bench when Milan return to action against Sampdoria.

All eyes are on the former Sweden international, who seems eager to get his name among the starting XI against Claudio Ranieri’s men at San Siro.

But Stefano Pioli might not be convinced as Zlatan has been out of action the last two months could therefore hand Poland international Piatek another chance to prove his worth from the off.

Suso and Hakan Calhanoglu are expected to accompany him in the attack, whilst Theo Hernandez should return at left-back in Pioli’s 4-3-3.

Ranieri is looking to send out Sampdoria in a 4-4-1-1 and play Gaston Ramirez behind Fabio Quagliarella at the Giuseppe Meazza.

Karol Linetty is the favourite to start over Jakub Jankto on the left side of the midfield four, above Nicola Murru.

In the middle we’ll most likely see Albin Ekdal and Ronaldo Vieira, with Omar Colley and Jeison Murillo as partners in the heart of the defence.

Milan (probable): Donnarumma; Calabria, Musacchio, Romagnoli, Hernandez; Krunic, Bennacer, Bonaventura; Suso, Piatek, Calhanoglu

Sampdoria (probable): Audero; Bereszynski, Colley, Murillo, Murru; Depaoli, Ekdal, Vieira, Linetty; Ramirez; Quagliarella
