Jeremie Boga said he’s still “in touch” with his old teammates at Chelsea and has revealed he feels "much better" at Sassuolo after "missing" the time at Stamford Bridge.

The Ivorian midfielder came to Sassuolo from Chelsea in the summer of 2018 and has played 42 games during his first one and a half seasons at the MAPEI Stadium.

He grew up at the Blues and said it was difficult to leave the club, as he was sent on loan to Stade Rennais from Ligue1, Granada from La Liga and Birmingham in the Championship.

“During the first years away, I missed Chelsea,” he told Tribal Football. “I actually spent 10 years there.”

In the end, it ended up being a permanent solution for Boga at Sassuolo in Serie A, and the 23-year-old said he is now used to life in Emilia Romagna and is not missing London like he used to before.

“I still keep in touch with many Chelsea players. For example, [Kurt] Zouma, [Michy] Batshuayi, [Tammy] Abraham and [Fikayo] Tomori. I am very proud of what they’re doing this season.

“It was hard at first, but now I feel much better,” he said. “I learned how to handle it.”
