Chelsea have reportedly paid over €31m in compensation after sacking Inter coach Antonio Conte in 2018.
Conte won the Premier League in his first season in charge of the Blues but was eventually sacked to make way for Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge.
Despite following up the League success in 2016-17 with the FA Cup trophy the following year, Conte’s relationship with the club seemed to have turned sour.
Sky Sports News has reported that the decision to part ways with Conte after two seasons in charge has cost the Blues €31m after reading the club’s latest accounts.
The amount has been paid out in ‘compensation to the former coach, his backroom staff and legal costs’.
This summer, the 50-year-old took over Inter and has lifted the Nerazzurri to the top of Serie A. They are currently protagonists in a Scudetto fight alongside reigning champions Juventus.
