Sampdoria midfielder Albin Ekdal was happy to see old pal Zlatan Ibrahimovic “in a good mood” during the match against Milan.
The two players clashed at the San Siro and were spotted catching up after sharing the pitch on several occasions with Sweden.
“It’s been a long time,” Ekdal told Aftonbladet. “We played together for the national team and our bond grew tighter with every match we played.
“It was cool to see him again; he was in a good mood.”
The match ended in a goalless draw and the midfielder felt they could have brought all the points back to Genoa.
“It was an important point,” he said. “But it could have been three, if we had taken one of our giant chances.”
The Blucerchiati defender Omar Colley, who has previously played for Djurgarden, also spoke to the Swedish newspaper about Zlatan.
“He has been on holiday and has just returned,” he told the outlet. “He probably needs a little more time to become 100 per cent. But Milan did get better when he came on.”
