Roma striker Edin Dzeko insists he has no regrets about rejecting a move to Inter last summer. "I don't think about it."

Dzeko had been linked with a move to the Nerazzurri throughout last summer. However a deal didn't materialise.

"I don't think about it. They are playing very well and they are first together with Juventus, it will be a race to the end and that's good for the league," the Bosnian told Sky Sport Italia.

Dzeko had been linked with a move to the Nerazzurri throughout last summer. However a deal didn't materialise.

"I don't think about it. They are playing very well and they are first together with Juventus, it will be a race to the end and that's good for the league," the Bosnian told Sky Sport Italia.

Dzeko joined the Giallorossi from Man City in the summer of 2015 and remembers his first of 97 goals for the club.

“I scored my first goal Serie A goal against Juventus and I remember spontaneous joy.

“I didn’t expect to score, Iago Falque’s ball was not the best but I managed to hit the target.

“It was my first goal with Roma, and it was exciting. Now I have 97 goals, but there should’ve been much more. I hope to score on Sunday evening, but we need more points than my goals.”

Dzeko is now one of the elder statesmen of the side, and believes he can impart wisdom to the younger players.

“I am amongst the oldest, with Aleksandar Kolarov, Antonio Mirante and Federico Fazio. We want to give the younger players tips to improve, both in training and in games. They have a lot of quality.”

Roma meet Juventus on Sunday evening, and the Bosnia international states that he doesn’t believe Roma are dependent on him, just as Juve aren’t on Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Roma and Juve cannot depend on one player. We all know Cristiano Ronaldo: he is a great player. Our team is not dependent on me, we would also miss other players."

Left-back Kolarov has talked about going into coaching once his career finishes, so is it something that Dzeko has contemplated?

“I am younger than Kolarov by a few months. I am happy that he has renewed. He is important on and off the pitch and I see him a as coach after he stops playing.”
