Lecce in for Felipe?

Lecce are reportedly trying to sign SPAL defender Felipe and are allegedly only formalities away from securing Cagliari midfielder Alessandro Deiola.

Patron Saverio Sticchi Diamanti promised to strengthen the team during the transfer market this window, to push for salvation in Serie A.

Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Deiola is more or less a done deal and has revealed that Lecce are now looking at the Brazilian 35-year-old from SPAL to bolster their options in defence.

The Sky Sport Italia journalist reports that an initial attempt to bring Koffi Djidji from Torino would be too complicated for the Giallorossi and have therefore moved their attention to Felipe in Ferrara.

Lecce are currently one point above the relegation zone at 17th in the League but are going through a difficult spell and a run of five games without a win – including the 5-1 thumping from SPAL in the Coppa Italia.

This weekend they travel to Parma, who lost their first in five in a heavy 5-0 defeat at Atalanta in their return from the winter break.
