Arsenal are considering a loan move for Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, according to an English report.

The Sun claims that The Gunners’ new coach Mikel Arteta is looking to add more depth to his squad, and has identified Calhanoglu as a target.

The former Bayer Leverkusen player has struggled in recent times to recreate the form he displayed in his first season at San Siro.

The 25-year-old is now in his third season with the Rossoneri, and could move on should the right offer arrive.

The 25-year-old is now in his third season with the Rossoneri, and could move on should the right offer arrive.

However, it remains to be seen whether Milan would accept a loan move for the Turkey international.

The Rossoneri posted debts of €146m late last year, and would want an outright sale, as opposed to a simple loan move.

Calhanoglu has made 18 appearances in Serie A for Milan this season, scoring twice and providing a single assist.

He joined the Rossoneri from Leverkusen in the summer of 2017, for €24m.
