Llorente return to Tottenham?

In a remarkable twist, it’s reported Fernando Llorente could return to Tottenham Hotspur on loan, just six months after joining Napoli.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Spaniard would come back to Spurs as a replacement for injured Harry Kane.

Llorente turns 35 next month and wore the Tottenham jersey from 2017-19, moving to Napoli as a free agent when his contract ran down over the summer.

The Spaniard has made 21 competitive appearances for the Partenopei, contributing four goals and an assist, but most of them were off the bench.

Since Gennaro Gattuso took over from Carlo Ancelotti and moved their tactical system back to 4-3-3, Llorente has made just two appearances for six minutes each.

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho needs a replacement for Kane, who is out until at least April following a hamstring tear, and has also been linked with Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek.

However, the Rossoneri want €35m for the Poland international and are not prepared to let him go on loan.
