Coppa: Lazio put four past Cremonese

Jony ran riot with Cremonese as Lazio comfortably beat the Serie B side 4-0 in the last 16 of the Coppa Italia.

The Spanish winger was involved in all three goals from open play as Lazio had no trouble against the squad from the second tier.

Patric and Marco Parolo found the net during the first half, as Ciro Immobile added his 109th goal for the Biancocelesti in the second half.

Patric arrived first to a loose ball in the middle of the box after a low cross from Jony at the left and sent Lazio ahead after 10 minutes at the Olimpico.

After 26 minutes Jony arrived once again from left, this time finding Parolo at the far post with his cross. Parolo found the net behind Agazzi as Renzetti couldn’t stop him from getting a look at goal.

Three minutes later the Cremonese goalkeeper Agazzi had to go off after a hit to the left knee. He was replaced by Ravaglia who did well to keep Lazio out after further attempts from Patric and Adekanye before the break.

After the break, Castagnetti brought down Bastos in the box and awarded Lazio an attempt from the penalty spot in the 58th minute.

The defender was booked for the offense and Immobile, the leading goal scorer in Italy, didn’t make any mistakes from the spot-kick.

Bastos put the nail in the coffin one minute before normal time was up, as the usual Jony provided the assist to find Bastos’ head in the middle.

The great pass found the defender unmarked in front of goal and the Angola international put the ball easily into the net behind Ravaglia.

Now Lazio will face Napoli in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia.
