The Biancocelesti resumed their title defence with a comfortable 4-0 win against the side from the second tier in Italy and Acerbi was happy that his Lazio “turned up” and has claimed “it was no match”.

“Today we all played well,” Acerbi told RAI Sport. “It’s never easy to face a Serie B team, because if you don’t turn up, you risk a lot.

“Today, there was no match. It’s nice to win.”

Lazio will face Sampdoria in the League on Saturday and Acerbi would like to see his teammates regroup immediately and prepare for the next match.

“Now we will face Sampdoria, it will not be easy,” he added. “Let’s think about this match and arrive in May, going to the Champions League and fighting for something important”.
