Paulo Dybala was close to leaving Juventus last summer to such an extent that the Argentine recorded a farewell video, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Bianconeri had shopped Dybala across Europe in a bid to readdress their finances after Gonzalo Higuain refused to leave the club.
Tottenham and Manchester United immediately expressed an interest in signing Dybala, but La Gazzetta claims that it was the London side that wanted the forward most.
Talks were believed to be at such an advanced stage that Dybala had even recorded a goodbye video, which would’ve been uploaded and posted once the deal had been confirmed.
However the 26-year-old then had a change of heart, and like Higuain, decided to stay in Turin to prove his worth.
Dybala has since forged himself as a starter for Juventus, making 17 appearances in Serie A, with 13 of them starts, and scoring five goals.
He has also contributed six assists.
