It comes after Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and others all report that Inter increased their bid to €13m plus another €2m in add-ons.

Eriksen’s contract is due to expire in June and he has no intention of signing a new deal, but Spurs are demanding €20m to release him five months early.

Inter have the player’s approval, as confirmed when agent Martin Schoots had dinner with CEO Beppe Marotta in Milan this week.

The latest reports from Italy claim that Tuesday will be the decisive moment in the negotiation, when Schoots visits Tottenham chief Daniel Levy and requests a transfer to Inter.

It’s possible the player will have to give up something to help the move go through, perhaps a signing-on fee or portion of outstanding bonuses, but Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio assures it’s “only a matter of time” for Eriksen to join Inter.
