Ciro Immobile is the form striker this season, as he has contributed directly to 29 Serie A goals for Lazio, more than any player in Europe’s top five leagues.

The centre-forward is seemingly unstoppable at the moment and took the Aquile to their club record 11th consecutive Serie A victory, crushing Sampdoria 5-1.

He bagged a hat-trick, including two penalties, and provided an assist for Felipe Caicedo’s opener.

It means Immobile has 23 goals and six assists in 19 Serie A games, so contributed directly to 29 goals, more than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues this season.

The Italy international failed to find the net in only four of his 19 Serie A matches this term and by scoring 23 goals, has more than the entire Sampdoria squad put together.

He is also entirely on track to beat Gonzalo Higuain’s all-time Serie A record of 36 goals scored for Napoli in the 2015-16 campaign.

The statistics also show Immobile is no flash in the pan, because only Lionel Messi (21) has scored at least two goals in more top five European league matches than him (18) in the last three seasons.

On top of all that, Lazio have a game in hand, as they will play Hellas Verona next month.
