Bologna assistant coach Emilio De Leo says Verona show similarities to Atalanta in their intensity. “Ivan Juric is a pupil of Gian Piero Gasperini.”
The Rossoblu welcome the Gialloblu at the Stadio Dall’Ara, with kick off at 14:00 GMT. You can read the match preview here.
Verona have exceeded expectations this season, and presently sit in the top half of the table, and De Leo says their intensity is reminiscent of La Dea.
“Juric is a pupil of Gasperini so similarities can be found. They are a team that are managing to produce a lot,” said De Leo in his press conference.
“All of us, chiefly, Sinisa [Mihajlovic] want to congratulate Juric. They are a very solid team, which concedes few goals and so we must be more determined as well as clinical in front of their goal.”
Asked who Bologna should look out for from Juric’s side, De Leo identified midfielder Miguel Veloso.
“I would say Veloso, because he is the player who makes the team tick. But I think the added value of Verona is their manager.”
Bologna signed Musa Barrow from Atalanta this week, so what are De Leo’s first impressions of the Gambian?
“We know him well, we believe he can play as a central and second striker and will give us further solutions.
“We were struck by his mobility and technique he can display whilst running at speed. He has the ability to make attacks more fluid.”
Fellow new signing Nico Dominguez made his debut last week in the game against Torino, coming on as a sub in the final few minutes.
“Dominguez can play as a midfielder but also as an attacking midfielder, he has all the characteristics to play in both areas of the pitch.
“All of our midfielders, apart from Gary Medel, are available.
“After the last training session, Sinisa will decide on who plays.”
