Genoa coach Davide Nicola says he’s happy that the Rossoblu supporters appreciated their efforts against Roma. “I think they respected our performance."

Nicola’s side lost 3-1 to the Giallorossi, but the coach states that he was happy with the team’s display in general.

“In the first half we weren’t as brave as in the second, in which we created four opportunities, like Roma. I think our fans appreciated the performance," Nicola told Sky Sport Italia.

“I am satisfied with the second half and after a week of working I can already see things. I am happy about this.

“In the second half I saw the determination to never want to give up.”

Genoa made some individual errors that cost them, but Nicola was more concerned about the team’s display.

“I don’t care about individual mistakes. We think as a team.

“What matter is to react and make up for the mistakes as a team. We certainly got into trouble on a couple of occasions, but if we play like this with the desire to attack we can be more dangerous.”
