Italian reports are piling up that Inter will hold talks with Tottenham Hotspur over the next 48 hours for Christian Eriksen, hoping to do a deal for €18m and fly in on Thursday.
Spurs have been adamant so far that they won’t drop below the €20m asking price, even though his contract expires in June and he’d be available as a free agent.
According to FCInterNews, Calciomercato.it and others, intermediary Frank Trimboli and agent Martin Schoots will meet with Tottenham over the next 48 hours to work out the final details.
The offer on the table is €15m plus another €3m in performance-related bonuses, but different add-ons could be agreed to increase that sum.
It’s hoped the Danish international midfielder could be in Italy for his medical on Thursday evening.
Paris Saint-Germain are also interested, but Inter have been working hard on getting Eriksen’s agreement to a contract worth €10m per season.
“Eriksen is a Tottenham player, but his contract expires in June, so it’s entirely legitimate and authorised to see his agent in this period,” CEO Beppe Marotta told Sky Sport Italia on Sunday.
“That’s a long way off saying he’ll come here in January or June, because there is a great deal of competition and we don’t know what will happen yet.”
