Inter have confirmed that Marcelo Brozovic has suffered a sprained ankle and will definitely miss the match against Cagliari this weekend.
The recovery might keep him out for three weeks and he could still be in line to participate in the Derby della Madonnina against Milan on February 9.
“This morning, Marcelo Brozovic underwent an MRI scan at the Istituto Humanitas in Rozzano after suffering an injury during Inter’s match against Lecce,” the club wrote on their official website. “The tests revealed a sprain to his left ankle.
“The player will be assessed on a day-by-day basis.”
He could still miss the next two games against the Rossoblu in Serie A and Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia. Inter are now hoping to have the Croatia international back against their archrivals in 19 days.
