Iachini: 'Chiesa-Cutrone-Vlahovic possible'

Fiorentina boss Beppe Iachini says he could unleash a trident of Federico Chiesa, Patrick Cutrone and Dusan Vlahovic against Genoa. “I like proactive football, in which all the players are doing well.”

The Viola welcome Genoa to the Stadio Artemio Franchi tomorrow. The game kicks off at 17:00 GMT. You can read the match preview here.

Fiorentina signed Patrick Cutrone from Premier League side Wolves last week, and asked whether he would consider implementing a trident of Cutrone, Chiesa and Vlahovic, Iachini didn’t rule it out.

“Everyone thinks that as a midfielder I don’t want to create goals for my players, but it isn’t so,” Iachini said in his press conference.

"When I have the correct players I always value my attackers. I remember Paulo Dybala, Andrea Belotti or Franco Vazquez at Palermo, just to name a few.

“My job is to work to insert my best players. I like proactive football, in which all the players are doing well.

“In the past I played with Dybala-Vazquez-Belotti. This time we can also try Chiesa-Cutrone-Vlahovic.”

Iachini then tried to play down suggestions he is becoming a hero of Florence after three wins and a draw from his first four games.

“I don’t feel like a hero, I’m just the Fiorentina manager. I want to make the fans proud of the team.

“We need organisation and every time we go out on the pitch we have to try to do the best we can.

“The heroes are the lads who started willingly to smile again. We won in Naples, that’s true, but we didn’t do anything, we have to continue as a team.”

Iachini says the Rossoblu have quality in every department, and don’t deserve their position in the Serie A table.

“They have quality in every area of the pitch. Goran Pandev, Stefano Sturaro, Domenico Criscito and Cristian Romero are all important.

“They don’t deserve to be in their position from the point of view of the players in their squad.”
