Massara: 'Paqueta a sensitive lad'

Milan director Ricky Massara confirms Lucas Paqueta asked not to face Brescia, but insists that doesn’t mean he’ll leave. “He is a great professional and a very sensitive lad.”

It’s confirmed Paqueta asked not to be in the squad for this trip to Brescia, but director of sport Massara insisted there was no irritation at his request.

“Absolutely not. Paqueta is a great professional and a very sensitive lad,” Massara told Sky Sport Italia.

“At this moment, he is going through a difficult period, is aware he isn’t at his best, so discussed it with the coach and decided it was best he remain to train and focus on getting back to his best.”

Paris Saint-Germain are the only real contenders for the Brazilian’s signature, but Milan are reported to want €35m.

“The rumours become more and more intense towards the end of the transfer window. The media loves to talk about non-existent offers, but Lucas can still show his talent at Milan and we have great faith in him.”

There were reports today that the Turkish Federation had given Fenerbahce the authority to bring in Ricardo Rodriguez.

“Ricardo Rodriguez is on the bench this evening and ready when called upon against a dangerous Brescia side who caused a lot of problems this season at the Stadio Rigamonti.

“We are all concentrated on the game and giving our best.”

Finally, Massara was asked if Franck Kessie would remain at Milan to the end of the season.

“Of course.”
