Fiorentina coach Beppe Iachini confirmed Gaetano Castrovilli has been taken to hospital for tests after the draw with Genoa. “He didn’t know where he was.”

The first questions in the press conference were about Castrovilli, who without any knock to the head throughout the match, suddenly felt dizzy and had to come off.

“I don’t know if he got a knock or what, but obviously we hope it’s nothing serious,” explained Iachini.

The first questions in the press conference were about Castrovilli, who without any knock to the head throughout the match, suddenly felt dizzy and had to come off.

“I don’t know if he got a knock or what, but obviously we hope it’s nothing serious,” explained Iachini.

“He couldn’t remember anything about what had happened in the game, what his position was meant to be or even really where he was.”

Castrovilli was taken to the local hospital for tests, accompanied by his brother and his girlfriend, who were both in the stands of the Stadio Franchi.

As for the match, Bartlomiej Dragowski made a series of crucial saves, none more so than on Domenico Criscito’s penalty, for a 0-0 draw.

“I had warned my players that Genoa’s current position in the table was not a fair reflection of their capabilities. We had started strong and were aggressive, we even hit the crossbar, but lost some focus after that penalty.

“We showed the right attitude in the second half, although we made a few mistakes on covering the passing channels. Fiorentina are still in recovery after a rough period and weren’t quite as sharp as we should be.”
