A minute's silence for Bryant

Milan and Torino will hold a minute’s silence for the tragic death of NBA legend Kobe Bryant before their Coppa Italia clash tomorrow.

Bryant died yesterday when the helicopter he was travelling in alongside his daughter Gianna crashed

Bryant spent a great portion of his youth growing up in Italy, as his father played basketball professionally for teams in Reggio Calabria and later Reggio Emilia.

Bryant became fluent in Italian and professed to being a Milan fan.

He visited the Rossoneri’s training ground Milanello in 2013 and spoke about watching Marco Van Basten, Ruud Gullit and Paolo Maldini.

“In my locker room in Los Angeles I have a Milan shirt and scarf,” Bryant told Milan’s channel at the time.
