West Ham United have made a €40m offer for Uruguay international Nahitan Nandez, claim Italian reports, and Cagliari are considering it.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the proposal arrived today and would be a loan with obligation to buy for a grand total of €40m, including performance-related bonuses.
Cagliari are giving it some thought, as that would at least double the €18m they paid Boca Juniors for the midfielder in August.
They have also been involved in some contractual discussions with his agents over image rights, so a sale would presumably resolve that issue.
It’s suggested that if Cagliari do turn down the offer, they will try to secure a new contract with a release clause worth €40m valid from June.
He has made 20 Serie A appearances, contributing one goal and four assists.
