Flamengo have finally agreed terms with Inter to sign Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa on a permanent basis, claim multiple sources.
ESPN in Brazil, Globoesporte and Sportitalia all maintain the deal is done and only the paperwork needs to be signed now.
He was on loan at Flamengo until December 31, but this would be a full transfer for approximately €18m plus bonuses and 20 per cent sell-on fee.
The 23-year-old striker has already agreed a contract to June 2024 worth €4m per year.
Inter purchased Gabigol from Santos in 2016 for €29.5m, but he never made any real impact at San Siro, nor in a loan spell at Benfica.
He rediscovered his scoring touch and the form of his life at Flamengo, taking them to the league title and the Copa Libertadores.
