Parma have confirmed that Andreas Cornelius is out with a muscle injury and is added to a long list of absentees at the Ennio Tardini.
After deciding to punish Gervinho and leaving the forward out of their squad until further notice, Roberto D’Aversa received unwanted updates on the Denmark international.
Cornelius has scored eight goals in 15 league games this campaign and bagged the equaliser against Cagliari on Saturday.
Tests have later revealed that he might be out for some time with a tear in the piriformis muscle and
“Andreas Cornelius has gone through some diagnostic tests that have revealed a first-grade tear of the piriformis muscle,” the club wrote in an official statement. “The player has already started the appropriate therapy.”
The club also confirmed that Andrea Adorante, Roberto Inglese and Luigi Sepe are already out with injuries and Bruno Alves has been absent on leave.
Meaning that D’Aversa might have to come up with a clever solution ahead of the match against Lazio this weekend.
