Sporting director Zvonimir Boban has claimed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will play the derby and admitted the Swede “risked everything” when he came to Milan.
Boban has praised the Swedish superstar for his “humility” in the dressing room at Milanello and how he immediately “understood” how delicate the moment was for the Rossoneri.
“The champions do everything for the team,” Boban said at an event in Milan, according to Calciomercato.com. “First of all, that’s what they must do.
“Just like [Ruud] Gullit, [Franco] Baresi, [Paolo] Maldini, but also [Roberto] Baggio, [George] Weah and Ibrahimovic.
“Ibrahimovic is a pure champion. Zlatan has a particular personality. He is especially professional. He entered the dressing room with humility, knowing the strength of the impact he might have. That’s not easy.
“He understood the atmosphere in the dressing room. The delicacy of the moment. Ibra risked everything. The impact of Ibra was there."
Now, Milan prepare for the Derby della Madonnina on Sunday and Boban insists that the 38-year-old will be ready to face Inter.
“He pushed to be there against Verona on Sunday and will be there in the derby this weekend," he said. “The next game is always the game that’s most important. It’s a special derby."
